Spinel- A Stone at Dusk

Spinel.  This gemstone is like a midnight amethyst, an deep dark sapphire, a tealy-blue topaz.  It is a traditional gemstone smoking a sexy cigarette.  Haven't heard of it?  Well, it comes in many different colors and shades - but typically it has a darkened undertones, perfect for wearing at dusk.  Spinel is plum purple, blue, vibrant pink, greeny-teal.

Most of our spinel comes from Sri Lanka, an island off the coast of India where Elizabeth's father has traveled for the past 20 years.  Much has changed in the gem markets of Sri Lanka.  This once unheard of gemstone has become more popular and more difficult for us to get our hands on!

Featured below is the Catherine ring with a glowing purple spinel.
